Rudolph “Rudy” A. Misun, age 83, of Moquah, passed away, Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Northern Lights Health Care Center in Washburn with his loving family by his side. He was born December 21, 1929 in Moquah, the son of George and Anna (Pagac) Misun.

Rudy was a 1948 graduate of Ondossagon High School. He married Janice M. Parker on August 13, 1955 in Carlton, MN. Rudy worked construction in Superior and later for Nasholm Construction. Rudy also owned and operated a dairy and beef farm for several years.

Rudy was a member of the Pilsen town board and served as chairman and supervisor. He was active in the Moquah Men’s Club and enjoyed volunteering as the Grill Master during Moquah Days. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He was also very proud of building his own home along with his family's help. The joy of his life was being able to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his two sons, Mike (Sue) Misun of Moquah and Mark (Suzi) Misun of Moquah; two daughters, Sherri (Jim) Schultz of Marengo and Sheila (Mark Udenberg) Hanson of Two Harbors, MN; 12 grandchildren, Michelle Misun and Becky (Bryan) Myers, Brandon (Jessica) Misun, Christopher (Alison) Misun and Taylor Misun; Steve (Jennifer) Schultz, Jolene (Marty) Storey, Kimberly (Mike) Heinonen and Karly (Carl Haughn) Schultz, Cody Hanson, Amber (Chris) Jackson and Casey Hanson; 7 great-grandchildren, Timmy, Reagan, Julie, Allie, Lexie, Kylie and Layla; 4 sisters, Tillie Lunda, Mary Trubachik, Helen Ehlinger and Susie (Andy) Vlasaty; a brother, John (Kathy) Misun; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice in 1990; parents and 9 siblings, Inez, Lillian, Elsie, Virginia, Georgia, Annie, Georgie, Jack and Rosalie.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Frost Home for Funerals in Ashland with Deacon John Grek officiating. Inurnment will be held in the Moquah cemetery in the spring.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 until the time of service at the funeral home on Tuesday. A reception will follow the services at the Moquah Town Hall.

Memorials may be made in memory of Rudy to the charity of your choice.
